High Temp Resin

Formlab’s High Temp Resin has a high heat deflection temperature (HDT). This means that it can resist deformation under a given pressure at heightened temperatures. If it undergoes through an additional curing process, its HDT can reach up to 238°C from the normal 120°C for 0.45MP.

Pros

This material is best known for its high Heat Material Deflection Temperature (HDT). Therefore, it can withstand certain pressure at a heightened temperature without any deformity.

Cons

High Temp Resin is not advisable to be used in printing snap fits and living hinges because this material has almost no flex.

Applications

This material is an excellent choice in making molds and inserts. It can be used for materials than can be exposed to hot air, gas, or fluid flow. Also, it can be used for other applications such as in heat resistant mounts, housing, fixtures, and in vulcanization.

Did you know?

All trees produce sap to a considerable degree but only trees that belong to Pinaceae family like pines, cedars, and firs can produce natural resin. One exceptional natural tree resin is amber. It is considered as a gemstone since Neolithic times, and has since been appreciated for its natural beauty..
